ibCom has sponsored Konstant Info. (India) to build a simple iPhone application for managing and interacting (email, SMS, viewing in maps) with person contacts.  It is a real usable application, but just importantly serves as a demonstratable example.

The development has been completed and final testing in readiness for submission into the App Store will happen later this week. 

Once in the App Store, the source code will also be available as a base for building an iPhone application.

If you have a need know, you get started by doing the design and using the services of Konstant Info (contact vipin@konstantinfo.com).  They can work off an a design document as per attached.   It is optional to provide the screenshots - but if doing a new design you can use them and edit them with mark up on top to help communicate the application needs.  Konstant Info. can guide you through the process of getting your application into the Apple App. Store etc.

Of course you can develop yourself or source a developer through Freelancer.com (or alike) and it could just as easily be a Android or Windows Mobile 7 based application.

Applications like these can really help engage users that aren't sitting in front of a desk and with the touch/gester based operating systems that usage is much more "human".

service person adding time on job (including gps/location based integration)
etc...

Attached is the updated documents for the Standard jQuery based interface/application framework- which we are currently developing sample scripts for.  This document contains information on concepts, naming conventions and techniques.   A more extensive updated version is currently underway and will be released when version 1.0 of the jQuery interface scripts are ready.   You can of course develop with the concepts in the document today using onDemand 1.8 and your own scripts.

Also attached is an updated version of the Human Engagement Framework document - which is a higher level summary document - outlining at a technical and business level the values of the framework.

http://www.popet.com.au is a great example of how using onDemand and a collaborative team you can build a higly engaging site.

Some quick highlights:

1. The use of dynamic tags to create the XHTML pages for each of the Spots, eg Teachers Spot - ensuring it is readable by search engines and alike.

2. The use of onDemand services, jQuery and AJAX principles to extend the functionality for a richer user experience.  eg when the user clicks "Read More" it goes back to the product details and gets the rest of the description.

3, The use of the multi-currency system to show prices in different currencies.  The prices automatically show currency based on current rate updated daily via xe.com

4. The use of jQuery to work with user interactions and product animation etc

5. PayPal Express Checkout integration.

6. The auto-registration of customers for My Spot - where users can download their PDF documents (stored as attachments on products) and more.

7. The use or 301 redirects to preseerve the value in existing links and redirect to the new links.

8. And of course direct integration in Business Management system for operations/customer support/marketing & accounting.
